Populate the custom field on task form populated from current item fields.

Hi All,

In SPD wofkflow, there are custom field on task form that needs to be populated from current item. In current implementation i have wrote a workflow on task list that tigger when task is created. this wokflow lookup the current item from list (list with original workflow is attached) and populate the task fields.

I am wondering, is there any other better way to do it?
