Variations and resources

Hi,

I'm working on a multilingual internet site for a company. Each language will have a different variation label for the content. However, they would like the SharePoint interface for each variation label to be in english so that they can administer the site themselves.

What's the best way to achieve this? Just leaving the site language in English seems to work fine.

However, then what's the best way to localize resources? If the language is in english then the pages UICulture is english and the resource files for the variation label won't be used. It seems that if I set the pages UICulture in code then SharePoint tries to target some resources the that culture too.

Surely the best approach here isn't a custom ExpressionBuilder. I would of thought this is a something SharePoint is designed to do out of the box.

Any advice, insight or help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Dan
