We have developed couple of web part that has to configured to display on the mysite landing page(i.e. home page). As it is not advisable to modify the out of the box site definition so i am using the feature stapling to deploy this customization. this is on premises deployment so i can use the feature stapling.
Feature stapling will works fine for those users who's mysite has not been created yet. Feature stapling will not work for users who's mysite has already been created. For such users i am thinking to delete the mysite however i couldn't do it as couple of users are using mysite to keep their personal data so i can't delete the my sites.
One solution that comes in my mind is used the powershell to do customization in existing mysites. in powershell, loop though the all existing my sites in my site web application and apply the customization. but this would be my last option as it involved efforts to creating the powershell script. it would be a long powershell script and debugging in powershell is very painful.
could you people please provide your thoughts on it?
