Adding event receivers to the PublishedFeed list

I am trying to add an event receiver to the PublishedFeed list in a users mysite to be able to audit Social Feed data. 

I have added the event receiver via code but it is never fired. Is this list populated in a way that stops event receivers from firing? 

Is there another mechanism to get access to all feeds to be able to audit additions, deletions etc from the feed?
