Get Managed Metadata GUID for use in SPD Workflow

Hi all,

I need to update/set the managed metadata field in one list to the value of a managed field in another list. It appears that SharePoint 2013 is not improved over 2010 in that I need to retrieve the same GUID stored in the taxonomy hidden list to update a Managed Metadata field value. Is it possible to retrieve this via a SharePoint Designer workflow, and would the HTTP Web Service be a method for returning this value dynamically?
