SharePoint 2010 Variations and automatic detection of user location

Dear All,

I would like to implement a mechanism of detection of users of a particular location; lets say for example FRANCE, hence that user would be redirected to a SharePoint site with a French language variation.

Is there any Out of Box option in SharePoint 2010 ? 

I was thinking to get the information of the local user from the AD through LDAP then redirect him to the respective site.

Help would be appreciated.
