APP Fabric 1.1 installation for Sharepoint 2013 prerequisites

Hi,

I can't install App Fabric 1.1 for SharePoint 2013. I keep getting1603 MSI error. all the solutions on the web refer to deleting a PSModulePath environmental variable. However, no one really explains how to do this.

Can anyone point me in the right direction please. I need to install this to set up a dev env for sharepoint 2013.
