I have recently installed SP2013 RTM on Win Server 2008 R2. I haven't installed a separate DC, but instead joined our Corporate or Production DC.
Now everything looks fine or atleast the old way of SP Development will work fine.
Coming to the new App world for SP2013, I have configured the App Management Service and the Subscription Settings Service accordingly, but haven't configured the APP Domain and App Prefix in the APP URL Configuration.
Now I know that you need to have APP Domain for the App Isolation for SharePoint-Hosted Apps. So I cannot install any Apps from SharePoint Store or An App Catalog which I created as I don't have an App Domain.
The Question, Do I need to have a DC and Configure a Domain in the DNS Server for Provider-Hosted Apps and Cloud Hosted Apps.
I was going through the following MSDN Article regarding developing High Trust Apps for SP2013 using STS Protocol (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/fp179901.aspx#NewVersion) It says App Isolation is a Prerequisite for this.
To say Provider-Hosted Apps are hosted on a Separate Server, so do we really need App Isolation??
or to keep the question this way for what part of SP2013 needs a DC configured?? or Do need to configure a DC to work with any kind of APP (3 hosting types)??
Any help is appreciated??
Thank you,
