Ok, I've been working on this for longer than I care to admit, I'm sure it's something simple.
I can create other SharePoint 2013 solution types (aka Web Parts, App Pages, etc.), so I know the server is up and running and all the permissions are ok.
All I'm trying to do is create/deploy a SharePoint Hosted App. I created a SimpleSharePointApp, VS 2012, New Project, App for SharePoint, gave it a name (SimpleSharePointApp), then hit build [NOTE: I added *nothing* to the Default.aspx]. I registered my app domain in PowerShell, and when I deploy, it shows up in the 'Apps in Testing' list on the development home page. When I click the link it takes me too: <a href="http:///path/_layouts/15/appredirect.aspx?instance_id={APP_GUID">http://<servername>/path/_layouts/15/appredirect.aspx?instance_id={APP_GUID} which gives me a page cannot be displayed.
I tried it on the server and it gives me the loopback issue. When I check the hosts file on the server, it is adding entries for the loopback address for the new tenent domain the project created.
All I'm doing is creating, building, deploying an empty app. I'm not using a Proxy, so I don't need to change IE (I don't think?). I'm using a Develoment template for the site I'm deploying to... so if anyone has an idea, please let me know.
