Here is my problem, I have a list where two types of users enter their data, it is custom list called Weekly Status Report, an employee can read and see its own data and nobody else data, but a manager can see its own data and the data entered by its peers, sounds simple right?
Unfortunately a simple hack like "Created By = [Me]" will not work since there are multiple managers and employees using the same list, so the challenge is to create a dynamic mechanism to filter the contents based on the current user, and it will solve the problem.
I would love to create a web part to be my filter provider so I can hook it up to any list in the future but I have ZERO experience with custom web parts and googling around was a time consuming task and I found very confusing examples of very advanced filters but nothing close or similar to my reality.
I realized it can't be something out of this world, what I'm looking for it is pretty mundane and a lot of organizations face the same problem, how to filter data in a SharePoint List where different users are accessing "sensistive" data but my research has shown it is quite difficult to find one single example!
I hope somebody could help me on this one.
