DeploymentServerType SharePoint 2013 dev tools won't allow me not to set it

As specified in SharePoint dev documentation, DeploymentServerType element of the solution package manifest is an optional string.http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms412929.aspx

As already mentionned if you set it to webfrontend it will deploy to every WFE of the farm, ApplicationServer to every AppServer of the. But we also should have the possibility not to set it. The thing is the tools won't allow me NOT to set the value, I also tried to set DeploymentServerType="" in the template o the package but sharepoint tools would override it.

So it seems there's no way to be able to follow MS's documentation with MS's tools :/

Any solution/workaround for my case?
